I love, love, love this product! I love the way it smells and the way my hands look soft and touchable when I use it. They "glow". When I was a smoker, I had such dry hands and they always had a smell to them even after I would wash - washing of course would make my skin dry. I tried the hand salve my boyfriend was using and the smell was totally gone and my hands felt so good. My only complaint is that it doesn't come in a full-on bucket or gallon-sized tub so I can drench myself in it's luxury. Calgon, who? Burt's Hand Salve, Take me awaaaay!!

WOW! Remember this is a SALVE for healing and relief, not a moisturizer - but the results are no less than amazing. I hate gloves, but after contact with garden soil, working with caustics like cement, over washing, or getting torn up by my rose bushes, my hands and nails get trashed. This near-miracle remedy heals and comforts like no other. I actually tested it against other products, put it on my right hand (which was worse), and another product on my left. Others moisturized, but did nothing to heal and relieve pain in the few hours to a day this takes. Healing happens naturally in about three days anyway if I don't repeat the offense. I have wasted hundreds of dollars trying other products. I keep in my glove box, in garden shed, in bathroom, and at dental office where I work. I RELY on it now.

I purchased this product to use at work and a co-worker used it one day when he could not find is own lotion. The co-worker, known for his chapped and bleeding hands throughout winter, said that his hands feel like a child's again. Working out doors in cold and snow causes both our hands to be rough and dry. My elderly father, a (now retired) long-time firefighter, has terrible arthritis in his hands. So I used the little sample tin of this (from one of Burt's sample bags) to massage his aching hands one evening and OMG, what a DIFFERENCE it made! For almost the entire day his hands felt so much better, and the scent has sort of a Vick's Vaporub effect on the hands, making them feel refreshed and more mobile. This product is pretty much good on any of your aching joints. He was so impressed with this salve that he asked me to buy the larger tin for him, and it's been well worth the purchase, as not a day goes by when it hasn't been put to some use. Thanks, Burt!

Indeed, this is not a lotion. It is a salve. It is also the best alternative to "Bag Balm" that I have ever found. Smells great, soaks in, and my cracked heels are cracked no longer. Use this with the Lemon Butter Cuticle cream - a match made in heaven! Both are easier to apply when you warm the tins up with your hands.

I take a ceramics class, and after working with the clay, my hands are dried out and my cuticles really worked. This salve goes straight to work on getting my hands back in shape. I also apply it to those rough spots on my feet too. Works great. The smell can be a bit strong though.

This hand salve is amazing! I use it about once a day to keep my hands soft and less dry. Because I wash my hands very frequently throughout the day, they often get really dry in the winter. This salve works wonderfully to avoid this. I love it!

If your skin is dry and chapped, this is the stuff for you. The smell is a little strong and it shouldn't be used as a regular lotion, but for extremely dry areas you can't beat it. I use it all over my legs at night and I wake up soft as silk.

I work in an environment that kills my hands. I come home and my hands are dry, flaky, and sometimes cracked and bleeding. I tried to use lotions at work but they make my hands slippery and I can't work well then. I use the hand slave. It is the best thing ever. I just use it once a day before I go to bed or maybe after I shower and it makes my hands new again! It goes on slightly greasy but after massaging into the hands for a minute or two it absorbs into the hands and all is well in the world again! But this and everything else by Burt because I have not tried a product yet that I didn't like.

Good stuff, though a little hard to work with sometimes. I've used it on all my dry spots with success. It's best applied at night. It also works well on my dogs' paws, their scrapes and scratches, and their dry, split ear tips. They hate the smell of the rosemary in it, though, which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. An unscented version would be perfect.

for my hands, feet, and face before falling asleep, usually followed by Earth Therapeutics Gardener's Hand Repair and cotton gloves and socks. Also, for my 16 yo ACD/ChowX. Not only does this salve relieve her dry skin patches and hot spots, she has licked the remaining salve from my fingers afterwards with no ill effects.
