I love the lip shimmer, but this color is very misleading. On lips it turns a bright pink, not a deep merlot as I had hoped.

Love, love, love this stuff! I am a repeat buyer of this product. My 80 year old mother in law loves the stuff as well!! I purchased for her birthday last year and she requested more of it for Christmas. It may go on pretty dark if you really rub it on, but I blot it with tissue to remove some. Sometimes if I just need a hint of color I just lightly dab it on across the lips. Works well! Love the tingly feeling. I have tried most of the colors except Champagne.

I am a brunette "winter" and the true red color of this lip tint is just right for me. I am glad to find an affordable NATURAL lip color. It is sheerer than a lipstick. Smells strongly of mint, so if that bothers you this is not right for you.

I love this lip balm and this particular color. Other reviewers are right - it is more like a sheer red than a "merlot" or "burgundy" color, and I like it that way. (It is not an orange-y or purple-y red at all, just a nice pure red tint.) I don't think the color is too va-va-voom - it's too sheer and even for that (never builds up or gets chalky the way standard lipsticks do). And like the other shades (I have watermelon, too), it is a great moisturizer for the lips - so much better than a lot of lip balms I've tried! Perfect!

I absolutely love this product!! In fact, I love all of Burt's Bees products. The color is fab!!! It works as lip balm as well as lip color. If you hate this color, try another lip shimmer color; with so many it will fit anybody's personality!!
