Relief from gas, cholic, and teething problems for babies
Ayurvedic System of Medicine lays emphasis on the proper functioning of the digestive fire as the key to the health and the normal growth of the child. The impairment of digestive system is responsible for all the disorders. Thus the treatment of all the disorders commonly encountered by infants and children includes the rectification of the abnormalities of the digestive system as the initial step.
Pedi Tone contains herbs, which rectify the abnormalities along with some herbs specifically acting on the disorders like vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, etc.
Studies have suggested that herbs such as Plumbago zeylanica (Chitrak), Piper longum (Pippali), Root of Piper longum (Pippali mool) Zingiber officinale (Nagara), Foeniculum vulgare (Madhurika), Cuminum cyminum (Jeeraka), Carum copticum (Yavani) and Curcuma zedoaria (Karchura) ensure complete digestion in infants and children.
Peucedanum graveolens (Shatapushpa), Madhurika, Nagara, Mesua ferra ( Nagkeshar), Ellateria cardamomum (Shukshmaila) and Alluminium chloride (Vid lavan ) have an antiflatulent action which helps relieving gripes and colic.
Holarrhena antidysenterica (Kutaj), Pippali, Embelia ribes (Vidanga), Cyperus rotundus (Mustaka), Curcuma longum (Haridra), Karchura and Aloe barbadensis (Kumari) are anthelmintics, worms being a frequent cause of malnutrition and poor growth in infants and children.
Kutaj, Nagkeshar and Terminalia bellerica (Bibhitaki) have anti diarrhoeal properties. Glycrrhiza glabra (Yashtimadhu), Karchura and Vidanga are mild laxatives that help in smooth bowel evacuation. Aconitum heterophyllum (Ativisha), Nagara, and Shukshmaila act as antiemetic agents. Moreover Ativisha is the most potent herb used in disorders during dentition.
Apart from the above said properties, Pedi Tone also exhibits the property of an expectorant due to herbs like Pistacia integerima (Karkatshringi),Shukshmaila, Bibhitaki and Yashtimadhu. Herpestris monniera (Brahmi), Evolvulus alsinoides (Shankhpushpi ) and Acorus calamus (Vacha) improve memory and help in cases of nervine debility. Thus Pedi Tone improves the appetite, digestion, laxative & a general tonic.
