  • peppers
  • seeds
  • soy products
  • whole grains
  • cereals
  • and more
Beano is a natural enzyme for a completely natual problem. Many people experience gas and discomfort after eating vegetables, grains, beans, and other wholesome or high-fiber foods. Even cereals, breads, nuts, and seeds can be problematic.

Unlike other gas medicines, Beano contains a natural enzyme that can help prevent gas before it starts. Available in a convenient tablet or meltaway, Beano helps you digest the complex carbohydrates in many of your favorite healthy foods - not just beans. With Beano, you can comfortably enjoy nutritious foods that are an essential part of a healthy diet.

No need to avoid your favorite healthy foods.
If you've begun to avoid your favorite healthy foods because of the embarrassment or discomfort they cause, Beano can help. Don't avoid nutritious foods that are ingredients in many delicious recipes. It's simply unnecessary. Just take Beano, and you won't have to give up eating the healthy things you love.

There's nothing special about gas.
Gas is a common problem, but not many people realize that digestive discomfort may be due to complex carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates are found in many healthy foods, such as beans and other legumes, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds.

Consuming complex carbohydrates can lead to flatulence, digestive discomfort, bloating and cramping. Beano is an over-the-counter natural gas prevention product that contains an enzyme that helps break down complex carbhoydrates in gas-causing foods, making them more digestible and therefore helping to prevent gas and bloating before they start.

Beano is available in tablet and fast dissolving Meltaway tablet so it's handy to use even when you're away from home and on the go - at work, dining out or visiting friends.

It's easy to find Beano before gas finds you.
You'll find Beano in supermarkets, pharmacies, mass merchandising outlets such as Sam's Club and Costco, and health food stores across the country. But you won't find it next to the vitamins. Look for Beano near the antacid products in the health section of the store.

SUGGESTED USAGE
Don't be afraid to eat your favorite healthy foods, like vegetables and whole grains. You should take 2 to 3 chewable tablets at the start of your meal.

BEANO REVIEW
Be prepared íV take Beano with you when you go out. You never know when you might need it. Adding Beano to foods while they're cooking reduces its effectiveness and is not recommended.

Sarah  "Helps stop gas"
This is one of the few products that I have used lately that helps prevent gas. If I take it before eating. The ingredients are the most that i have found for effective gas stop products. You do have to keep taking it though. If you stop taking it the gas problems will return. So I will continue taking it daily for stopping gas.

Sahara  "Really works."
This product is great and really works. I have never found a problem with this product after taking it for a long time.

Stacy  "Beano works"
Beano has worked great for me after the year or so of me using it. It is effective. After 2 weeks of using it I was able to eat beans, onions, cabbage and bell peppers again without giving me gas.

How It Works
Beano helps prevent stomach gas caused by certain healthy foods. The most common issues include flatulence, abdominal bloating and digestive discomfort. Beano contains a natural enzyme that works with your body's digestion. It breaks down complex carbohydrates into simple sugars, preventing gas before it starts.
FAQ
How much sodium is there in Beano?
Beano tablets contain less than five milligrams of sodium per tablet. It can be said that Beano?tablets are sodium-free.

What foods does Beano work on?
Beano is not just for beans. It works on a whole variety of gassy foods, including many vegetables like cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower, grains, cereals, nuts, seeds, whole-grain breads and many other foods.

What causes gas?
The body does not digest and absorb some carbohydrates in the small intestine because of a shortage or absence of certain enzymes. This undigested food then passes from the small intestine to the large intestine where bacteria break down the food, producing gas. The most common symptoms of gas are flatulence, abdominal bloating and digestive discomfort. In essence, the body lacks the enzymes needed to breakdown the carbohydrates found in some gassy foods like vegetables, beans, grains, cereals, nuts, seeds and whole-grain breads. This is where Beano steps in. Beano contains a food enzyme from a natural source that works with your body's digestion to breakdown the complex sugars in gassy foods making them more digestible, preventing gas before it even starts.

Does Beano work on gluten?
No. Beano will not work on any protein, including gluten. Beano only works on breaking down the complex sugars found in many foods.

When do I use Beano?
The correct timing of the dosage is also key to Beano's efficiency. To prevent gas before it starts, take Beano with your gassy food. If you are using Beano tablets, you should swallow, chew or crumble them onto your food right before your first bite or you will take with your first bit of food. If you are using Beano Meltaways, one Beano Meltaway works the same as two Beano tablets. Just place on your tongue before your first bite, and it will melt away in seconds with a smooth, light flavor to help prevent gas from happening.

How much Beano do I need to take?
The correct dosage amount is key to Beano's efficiency. Take 2 - 3 chewable tablets or 1 Meltaway at every typical meal. For best results, you may have to adjust the number of tablets or Meltaways according to the number of servings.

Who should use Beano?
Beano contains an enzyme from a natural source that works with your body's digestion to breakdown the complex carbohydrates in healthy foods making them more digestible. Beano is not a drug. It is a natural product that can help prevent gas before it starts. Beano is recommended for adults and for children 12 years and older. Beano is not recommended for use with infants or young children, except on the advice of a pediatrician. There is no information to indicate that Beano is other than safe for use during pregnancy or duing breast-feeding. However, Beano has not been tested on pregnant or lactating women. Therefore, any pregnant or lactating woman should consult with her physician before using Beano.

Can children use Beano?
Beano is recommended for children 12 years and older. Beano is not recommended for use in children under 12, except on the advice of a pediatrician.

Can my pet use Beano?
Beano has only been tested for human consumption, so we have no data on using the product for pets.

Can I take Beano if I'm pregnant or breast-feeding?
There is no information to indicate that Beano is unsafe for use during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. However, Beano has not been tested on pregnant women and therefore, we recommend that pregnant or breast-feeding women should speak to their physician before using Beano.

Is Beano safe to use for diabetics?
Each serving of Beano itself contributes an extremely small number of calories (less than five) to your diet and would be expected to have an insignificant effect on blood glucose. However, Beano is a natural source food enzyme that works by breaking down indigestible sugars into simpler, more digestible sugars. As a result, it has been estimated that the use of Beano will produce an additional two to six grams of carbohydrates for every 100 grams of food treated by Beano. If you have concerns about the use of Beano, we recommend that you speak with your physician.

Are there any medical conditions that would be affected by the use of Beano?
Persons who are galactosemic should speak with their physician prior to using Beano.

Can I take Beano if I'm allergic to penicillin or mold?
There is nothing in the scientific literature to suggest that individuals with an allergy to penicillin or molds would have an allergy to Beano.

Can I take Beano with my other medications?
There are no known drug interactions. Since an enzyme will catalyze chemical reactions specific only to that enzyme, they are quite predictable. Alpha-galactosidase enzyme activity is specific to materials containing one or more alpha-1,6-galactopryanosyl groups in their structure. We ask that you speak to your physician or pharmacist about the advisability of taking Beano while you're taking other medications.

Does Beano contain gluten?
The smallest amount of gluten that can be chemically detected in a product is 0.00016 percent. Results of our testing have shown that Beano contains less than 0.00016 percent gluten. Although the amount of gluten in Beano is less than the limit of detection, we would recommend that individuals who have concerns about the use of Beano speak with their physician.
