What are the main ingredients in Cravex?
The main active ingredients is Gymnema Sylvestre. It is an Indian herb.
How does Gymnema Sylvestre work to control cravings?
The first thing it does is to dull the sweet taste buds. So if you're craving a cookie and you take Cravex, and then you eat the cookie, it will have no flavor. Secondly, it is similar in structure to the sugar molecule, only larger. So as sugar passes through the small intestine where it would normally get absorbed, the Gymnema Sylvestre binds to some of the sugar binding sites and doesn't allow the sugar to be absorbed.
What does the chromium do?
Chromium helps makes the cells more receptive to insulin. Insulin is needed to take sugar or glucose into the cells. If the cells become more receptive to insulin, then more sugar will be able to be used by the cells for energy instead of stored as fat. If more sugar is being utilized properly by the cells, then blood sugar stays level for a longer period of time. The longer blood sugar stays level, the less likely you are to crave sweets.
What does the 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) do?
5-HTP helps to increase or balance serotonin levels. Studies suggest that when serotonin levels are low, the body craves carbohydrates. If serotonin levels are balanced, the body is less likely to crave carbohydrates.
What does licorice root do?
Licorice root is another ingredient to help maintain blood sugar levels.
What do L-Glutamine & DL-Phenylalanine do?
L-Glutamine helps to control sugar cravings and also helps to preserve lean muscle mass. DL-Phenylalanine has been found to help reduce carbohydrate cravings.
When should I take Cravex?
