Bac 'Uns   Barberry Root   Basil
A great tasting, healthful alternative to bacon, these low-fat, cholesterol-free, vegetarian bits contain no meat, no artificial colors or flavors and no preservatives.

Puckery but less bitter than cranberries, ripe barberries can be used to make jam.   To be used fresh in cooked recipes, it is generally added at the last moment, as cooking quickly destroys the flavour.
Bay Leaf   Bayberry   Bell Peppers
A culinary herb often used to flavor soups, stews, and pâtés in Mediterranean Cuisine.   The coating is also aromatic and can be removed from the fruit to add aroma to candles or other wax items.

Perhaps the hot flavor of New World peppers reminded Columbus of the more familiar hot spices from India.
Bilberry   Black Cohosh   Black Walnut
The fruit is smaller than that of the blueberry and similar in taste.   Has been shown to reduce cytokine-induced bone loss or osteoporosis by blocking osteoclastogenesisin in vitro and in vivo models.

Provides a robust, distinctive, natural flavor and crunch as a food ingredient. Popular uses include ice cream, baking and confection.
Bladderwrack   Blessed Thistle   Bloodroot Root
It’s used as an additive and flavouring in various food products in Europe. It is commonly found as a component of kelp tablets or powders used as nutritional supplements.

It is used as a galactogogue to promote lactation.
Blue Cohosh Root   Boldo Leaf   Boneset
It has been used as a dietary supplement that can induce labor, regulate menstrual flow, suppress menstruation, and ease the pain and difficulty that accompany childbirth. This herb should not be taken during pregnancy.

It’s used in native South American medicine for the treatment of liver, gallbladder and urinary problems.   Boneset infusions are considered an excellent remedy for influenza.
Brich Bark   Buckthorn Bark   Burdock
Strong and helpful, this is typically used for decorative items.   Was accepted in medical practice in the United States in 1877, and by 1890 had replaced the berries of the European Buckthorn (R. catharticus) as a commonly used laxative.

Very crisp and has a sweet, mild, and pungent flavour with a little muddy harshness that can be reduced by soaking julienne/shredded roots in water for five to ten minutes.
