Lavender Flower Essential Oil -

Native to the Mediterranean region, Lavender has also claim to have native roots that extends across the Canary Islands, North Africa, East Africa, and southern Europe (which includes the Mediterranean region). Employed by chefs in Provence, France to flavor their deliciously profound cuisines, Lavender flowers can also be candied and are sometimes applied as cake decorations while Lavender are used to flavor baked goods, desserts, dishes, syrups, and even a flavored sugar known as “Lavender Sugar”. Lavender is occasionally sold in a delicious tea blend with herbal, black, or green tea.
Extensively used in herbalism, Lavender is popularly used as a favorite fragrance for bath products and, because of its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, it was used to disinfect hospital floors and walls during World War II. Possessing sweet overtones, English Lavender can be employed in balms, salves, perfumes, cosmetics, and topical applications. While bunches of Lavender flowers is said to repel insects, you can use an infusion of Lavender to soothe and heal those pesky insect bites.
Frequently used as an aid for sleep and relaxation, Lavender can also soothe your headaches just by applying its essential oil to your temples while an infusion of three Lavender flowerheads added to a cup of boiling water is recommended as a soothing and relaxing bedtime drink. For those with skin problems, Lavender oil (or Lavender Extract) is diluted with water, Witch Hazel, or Rosewater and is used to heal acne as well as in the treatment of skin burns and inflammations.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Add a drop of Lavender Flower Essential Oil, two drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil, and a teaspoon of carrier oil (such as Sweet Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, or Olive Oil) together before gently applying with a cotton swab to treat that nasty case of ringworm or Athlete’s foot.
Mix together two drops of Lavender Flower Essential Oil, two drops of Rosemary Essential Oil, and four teaspoons of carrier oil (such as Olive Oil, Grape Seed Oil, or Sweet Almond Oil) to help ease those muscle aches or just apply for that nice, gentle body massage.
Mix together four drops of Lavender Flower Essential Oil, a drop of Petitgrain Essential Oil, a drop of Frankincense Essential Oil, and six teaspoons of carrier oil (such as Grape Seed Oil, Olive Oil, or Sweet Almond Oil) and pour into a nice, warm bath or use for a relaxing massage oil.
Caution: Even though Lavender Flower Essential Oil does not have the tendency to cause any serious problems, it may cause an allergic reaction due to its pollen; plus it would be wise to consult with a healthcare professional if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking any medications before using.
