Originated in the Mediterranean mountains, Lavender can also be found across the Canary Islands, North Africa, East Africa, and southern Europe (which includes the Mediterranean region). With a dreamy sweet fragrance that has made it a popular perfume choice for centuries, Lavender is also a perfect flavor of choice amongst the chefs in Provence, France for that special touch in their cuisines while Lavender flowers have also been candied and are sometimes applied as cake decorations; Lavender is also used to flavor baked goods, desserts, delicious dishes, syrups (it is even made into a flavored sugar known as “Lavender Sugar” ), and is occasionally sold in a delicious blend with black, herbal, or green tea.
Possessing powerful harmonizing properties, Lavender is used to treat those troubles of both the heart and mind as well as depression, pain relief, muscle relaxer, and eases tension while healing acne and sunburn. Used extensively in herbalism, Lavender is the perfect bathroom oil, making it a popularly used scent as a favorite fragrance for bath products; because of its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, Lavender is employed to disinfect hospital floors and walls during World War II. Lavender is used in blams, salves, cosmetics, perfumes, and topical applications; while bunches of Lavender can be used to repel insects, you can use an infusion of Lavender to soothe and heal any pesky insect bites you might endure during the summer season (or anytime you might encounter a bug with a grudge with humans).
Often used as an aid for sleep and relaxation, Lavender can also soothe your headaches by applying its essential oil to your temples while you can make a soothing and relaxing bedtime drink by infusing three Lavender flowerheads in a cup of boiling water. For those who have problems with their skin, Lavender oil (or Lavender Extract) is often diluted with water, Rosewater, or Witch Hazel, and is used to heal acne as well as in the treatment of skin burns and inflammations.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Simply add three drops of Lavender Essential Oil into water in your vaporizer bowl to gently apply a nice, sweet fragrance to your room.
Mix five drops of Lavender Essential Oil with 20 milliliters of a carrier oil (such as Sweet Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, or Olive Oil) and apply to your pulse points.
Add a drop of Lavender Essential Oil, two drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil, and a teaspoon of carrier oil (such as Sweet Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, or Olive Oil) together before gently applying with a cotton swab to treat that nasty case of ringworm or Athlete’s foot.
Mix together two drops of Lavender Essential Oil, two drops of Rosemary Essential Oil, and four teaspoons of carrier oil (such as Olive Oil, Grape Seed Oil, or Sweet Almond Oil) to help ease those muscle aches or just apply for that nice, gentle body massage.
Mix together four drops of Lavender Essential Oil, a drop of Petitgrain Essential Oil, a drop of Frankincense Essential Oil, and six teaspoons of carrier oil (such as Grape Seed Oil, Olive Oil, or Sweet Almond Oil) and pour into a nice, warm bath or use for a relaxing massage oil.
