Clary Sage Essential Oil -

Considered an aphrodisiac in the 12th century, Clary Sage is also made into a tea as well as possessing such great benefits as easing any female complaints (such as uterine and menstrual ailments), cooling inflammations, and relieving congested complexions.
This herb is useful as a general nerve tonic (by easing depression, stress, nervous burnout and such) in addition to soothing digestive disorders and kidney disease despite its declining use by the common folk over a course of several years. In Jamaica, the locals used Clary Sage for cleaning and cooling ulcers as well as for any inflammation of the eyes.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Add 2 to 3 drops of Clary Sage Essential Oil in a bowl of steaming hot water and breathe in the steam with a towel draped over your head for a few minutes or add a couple of drops of essential oil to a diffuser for those enjoyable aromatherapy benefits.
Just add 4 to 6 drops of Clary Sage Essential Oil to a nice hot bath along with a dispersant (such as alcohol or milk) to break up the oil on the water's surface so that the oil doesn't sensitize your skin or you can add a teaspoon of Jojoba Oil to protect your skin as an alternative.
Add 15 to 20 drops of Clary Sage Essential Oil in an ounce of a massage oil base for one of the most relaxing and therapeutic ways to enjoy the aromatherapy benefits of this oil. You can also use it as a room spray to deodorized and disinfect by adding a teaspoon of Clary Sage Essential Oil, 7 ounces of distilled water, and an ounce of vodka or 90% isopropyl alcohol (to emulsify the oil) in a spray bottle and spray all over the room, including linens, bedding, and towels.

A biennial herb that is native throughout Europe as well as east and central Asia, Clary Sage is historically found in southern France, Italy, Switzerland, and Syria but is cultivated worldwide.
A relative to Sage, Clary Sage gets its name from the Latin word “Claris” (meaning “clear”) or from the Greek word “Skeria” (meaning “hardness”, referring to the hard parts of this herb's small blue/white flower petals even though in the Middle Ages Clary Sage was often called “Oculus Christi” (meaning the “Eye of Christ”)
It was a highly esteemed medicinal herb during that time. Although its leaves have been used as a vegetable for culinary purposes, Clary Sage was used to flavor ales before the use of hops become commonplace and has been used to flavor wine (most notably muscatel) as well as some tobacco products.
