A number of studies have been conducted to assess the effect of supplementation with a less concentrated fertilized egg powder (1.79g of the lest concentrated powder corresponds to 1.0g of YTE) on libido and sexual wellness. The causes for diminished libido are complex in nature, and can be influenced by age, psychological factos and other contributors. Although there is likely no single way to support healthy libido in everyone, preliminary results on the youthful stamina and libido enhancing effect of fertilized egg powder are promising.
A preliminary study on 30 male rats looked at the effect of fertilized egg powder on libido. The rats were divided into three groups, and were given either incubated fertilized egg powder, fertilized eggs with no incubation, or placebo orally for three weeks. There was a significantly increase in several measurements of libido in the fertilized egg powder group compared to the other groups, yet no significant differences were observed between any of the groups in testosterone levels.
Open pilot studies on humans using fertilized egg powder support its ability to promote youthfulness and stamina. Several randomized double-blind placebo controlled crossover human clinical studies measuring enhancements in youthful libido have since been conducted. The first was a small study on 16 middle-aged men that lasted 6 weeks. The men were randomly selected to take fertilized egg powder for 3 weeks followed by 3 weeks of placebo or vice versa. Libido levels were measured subjectively using a standard visual analog scale. Those taking fertilized egg powder had significant enhancement in libido compared to controls. This enhanced effect diminished after discontinuing the treatment for 1 to 2 weeks. The second study lasted 12 weeks, and involved 31 healthy men. They were randomized blindly for supplementation with either placebo or fertilized egg powder, switching between treatments every two weeks. As in the previous study, libido was assessed using a visual analog scale. Although the enhancements seen in this study were not as pronounced as the first study, a statistically significant increase was seen during supplementation with fertilized egg powder compared to the placebo group. Over half the participants appeared to respond positively to fertilized egg powder. Both studies indicate that the beneficial results of supplementing with fertilized egg powder become evident after 2-3 weeks of use, and appear to decrease after 1-2 weeks of discontinuation of supplementation. Moreover, the studies indicate general trends for supportive benefits of supplementation with Young Tissue Extract on youthfulness, vigor and stamina.
A preliminary study of 11 human subjects taking fertilized egg powder were asked to complete questionnaires which measured a number of different aspects of healthfulness and youthfulness in mood and other parameters of wellness. Subjects were given fertilized egg powder as a supplement for three weeks, followed by placebo for an additional three weeks. Questionnaires were administered before supplementation, and then at weeks two, three, five and six. General improvement was seen for all of the qualities measured with statistically significant enhancements specifically evident in six different measurements of reproductive wellness, stamina and drive. Additionally, several measurements of emotional well-being improved during the study, including increased energy, confidence, and self-esteem during the supplementation period. Several of the benefits occurred during the supplementation phase and remained at the higher level without further improvement during the placebo phase. Other benefits remained evident even during the placebo phase. However, although subjects were blinded to the sequence of receiving placebo vs. supplement, the outcomes are somewhat difficult to evaluate as the study did not have a cross-over design. Yet the results are still of interest and set the stage for future studies.
A small preliminary study was conducted to look at the effects of fertilized egg powder on muscle strength and muscle mass. Thirty-two subjects consisting of both genders took part in a 6-week study that looked at the effects on skeletal muscle of supplementing with a combination of fertilized egg powder and creatine compared to supplementation with creatine alone. The results showed that there was a strong trend toward improvement in muscle definition, muscle mass, strength, training motivation, fat reduction, and increased energy levels in the combination group containing fertilized egg powder compared to creatine alone, although the results did not reach statistical significance in this study.
A further small, unpublished cross-over study of nine advanced body builders was conducted in which supplementation of fertilized egg powder was compared to an isoenergetic control supplement. The study design consisted of a washout period of 7 days before the treatments were crossed over. In the group taking the extract, an increase in cellular uptake of testosterone (as determined by lowered blood testosterone levels), higher insuling levels and lower cortisol (stress hormone) values were reported after a workout as compared to the control group.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Take 2 capsules before breakfast and 2 capsules before bedtime for the first 15 days, followed by 2 capsules before breakfast therafter.
