What an ugly word colic is. If you have a colicky baby, you sure know what we are talking about. About 20 percent of all infants suffer from colic. The spates of crying can go on for hours. Not only is it distressing for the baby - it's exhausting and emotionally draining for you. Colic from Liddell can offer relief for your baby - and for you.

SUGGESTED USAGE
Adults and children above 12 should take two sprays under the tongue three times per day.
Children under 12 should take one spray under the tongue three times per day or, if preferred, spray once into an ounce of water or juice and have the child drink the liquid.
For infants and children under five years of age, a dropper may be requested to replace the bottle sprayer. If a dropper is used, administer one drop for each year of age under the tongue three times per day. As an example, a child of three would take three drops under the tongue three times per day.
Also, a child under one year of age should take one drop three times per day.

How It Works
Colic is a combination of remedies carefully designed to alleviate immediate symptoms of colic.- Colocynthis (Bitter Cucumber) – for a cutting abdominal pain and easing irritability
- Carbo Vegetabilis (Activated Charcoal) – for relief of spasmodic pains in the abdomen and abdominal distention
- Cuprum Metallicum (Copper) – calms muscle spasms, cramps, and convulsions
- Magnesia Phosphorica (Magnesium Phosphate, Dibasic) – for cramping of muscles and flatulence accompanied by gaseous pain
- Ranunculus Bulbosus (Buttercup) – for pain and tenderness in the abdomen
- Cinchona Officinalis (Peruvian Bark) – for gastric pain and flatulence
More treatment ideas
In addition to Colic by Liddell, there are several measures that may help your baby feel more comfortable.- You might try a different formula if you bottle-feed. If you breast-feed, don't stop: weaning your baby from breast milk may make the colic worse. Instead, consider changing your diet to see if this stops the colic. You might try cutting out particular foods such as wheat products, spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine or cruciferous vegetables.
- If you decide to cut out a number of dairy products, speak to your doctor first and take Calcium Plus by Liddell in combination with a calcium supplement. By reintroducing these foods gradually into your diet, you may be able to identify which food, if any, is causing the problem.
- If your baby seems to have a lot of wind, make sure you burp him or her frequently. If you bottle-feed, your baby may be swallowing air from the bottle. You might try feeding your baby in a different position, or use a curved bottle, or a bottle with a collapsible bag.
- To soothe your baby, you might try some or all of the following:
- carry him or her in a front sling or back pack
- wrap him or her snugly in a blanket (this is called swaddling)
- keep him or her in motion in an infant swing
- take him or her for a car ride or a walk outside
- give him or her gentle tummy massages
- give him or her a bath - the warm water may be comforting
