There are many factors that play a role in heart health and maintaining a healthy cholesterol level. These include diet, exercise, body weight and age. Adjusting diet and exercise properly will provide your body with the important nutrients needed to promote heart health as well as contribute to a healthy body weight. However, these factors alone don’t always reduce high cholesterol levels. Other nutrients may be involved in lowering cholesterol. Plant sterols and stanols, the active ingredient in CholestOff, have been shown to reduce LDL (“bad”) and total cholesterol by blocking cholesterol absorption. Therefore, in addition to a healthy diet and exercise regimen, supplementing with CholestOff can help lower LDL cholesterol levels up to 24%* and promote overall heart health. CholestOff is recommended to be part of a daily regimen for Heart Health.
Products containing at least 400 mg per serving of plant sterols and stanols, eaten twice a day with meals for a daily intake of at least 800 mg as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of Nature Made CholestOff supplies 900 mg of plant sterols and stanols for optimum benefits.
The average reduction in LDL cholesterol in seven clinical studies of 3 weeks or longer supporting Reducol™ was 1.4% - 24.4%. Changes in diet alone resulted in 8.9% reduction in LDL.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Take two caplets two times daily with a glass of water or other beverage before meals. For optimal effectiveness, take this product between 15 and 30 minutes before eating a meal.

Nature Made® and Nature's Resource® product lines are made to strict quality standards of purity, potency and release. Most all products are produced without artificial colors or preservatives. The few products that do contain artificial colors will state this in the ingredient listing on the label.

Most all of our products are gluten free. For many products in our Nature Made® product line, we do state this on the label. What is povidone and why is it used in some of your Nature Made® Vitamin supplements?
Povidone has a functional use in foods and tablets as a clarifying agent, separation/filtration aid, stabilizer, tableting aid, and dispersant. Povidone is a synthetic material. Povidone is regarded as nontoxic because when consumed orally from a tablet, it is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract or mucous membrane. Moreover, it has no irritant effect on the skin and causes no sensitization. Povidone is used in nutritional supplements, prescription medication and many common over the counter products like Actifed™ , Advil™ , Aleve™ , Motrin™ , Sudafed™ , Children’s Tylenol™ , and many others.
Can the bottles that your supplements are packaged in, be recycled?
All of our amber plastic vitamin bottles are polyethylene terephthalate (PETE) which is resin code 1. The caps are polypropylene, which is resin code 5. Therefore, it should be fine to place the bottle in their recycling bin.
What is a Daily Value?
The Daily Value is the amount of a nutrient the body needs based on a 2000-calorie diet for an average sized person. There are two standards that are referenced as follows: 1. Daily Reference Values 2. Reference Daily Intakes (RDIs), which replaced the term “U.S. RDA” (the values determined by FDA and used on food labels, taken from the “RDAs” which are values determined by the National Academy of Sciences for various populations groups). The Daily Value (or a RDA's) is the minimal dosage intended to augment less than perfect eating habits (the Daily Values, are the values that will be seen on the labels). However, these values do not indicate what the safe maximum amount of a vitamin you can take, or amounts that may give therapeutic benefits, in addition to keeping the body from being deficient.
