Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants available. The most commonly found vitamin E supplement is d-alpha tocopherol, which in itself is excellent in its' antioxidant and heart support properties. However, d-alpha tocopherol is only one of the eight isomers found in the entire vitamin E complex. The most complete form of vitamin E includes four tocopherol isomers (d-alpha, d-beta, d-gamma, and d-delta) as well as four tocotrienols isomers (d-alpha, d-beta, d-gamma, and d-delta).

Tocomin is a natural phyto-tocotrienol/tocopherol complex that is naturally extracted and concentrated from the fruits of palm tree through a mild patented process, maintaining the natural ratios of the tocotrienols and tocopherols. Other naturally occurring nutrients within the palm fruit extraction include phyto-carotenoids, CoQ10, phytosterols, and squalene. The majority of the published health benefits associated with tocotrienols have been based on studies using palm phyto-tocotrienols.

With the addition of the full spectrum of mixed tocopherols, the levels of the d-alpha and d-gamma tocopherols have been increased significantly. D-alpha tocopherol is the "known" vitamin E in the industry, and increased levels of d-gamma tocopherol, when combined with the mixed tocotrienols, have been shown to enhance the overall antioxidant status of the supplement
